Organic farming in Karnataka, is not yet in full swing all though it is growing in fast pace, still only 10 to 12 percent of agriculture land is converted into organic farming rest all are using green revolution using harsh pesticides and chemical and harming the soil and its user inturn.

The need of the hour is organic farming and growing healty crops and inturn making good soil and environment.

You're absolutely right! Organic farming is an important and sustainable approach to agriculture that prioritizes the health of the soil, crops, and the overall environment. While organic farming is growing at a fast pace in Karnataka, it is true that only a small percentage of agricultural land has been converted to organic farming so far.

The widespread use of conventional farming methods, including the Green Revolution techniques that rely heavily on pesticides and chemicals, has indeed led to concerns about soil degradation, water pollution, and negative impacts on human health. Organic farming, on the other hand, promotes natural and environmentally friendly practices that help maintain soil fertility, conserve water, and reduce the use of harmful chemicals.

Encouraging the expansion of organic farming in Karnataka is indeed the need of the hour. This can be achieved through various measures, including:

Awareness and education: Conducting awareness campaigns and training programs to educate farmers about the benefits of organic farming, sustainable practices, and the harmful effects of chemical-intensive farming.

Government support: Implementing policies and providing incentives, subsidies, and technical assistance to farmers to encourage the adoption of organic farming practices. This can include financial support for organic certification, access to organic inputs, and marketing assistance.

Research and development: Investing in research and development to develop improved organic farming techniques, crop varieties, and pest management strategies specific to the local agro-climatic conditions of Karnataka.

Market development: Creating a robust market for organic produce by promoting organic food consumption, establishing certification standards, supporting organic farmers' cooperatives, and facilitating direct market linkages between organic farmers and consumers.

Farmer collaboration: Encouraging farmers to form groups or cooperatives to share knowledge, resources, and best practices related to organic farming. This can help build a strong community of organic farmers and foster collective growth.

By implementing these measures and promoting organic farming, Karnataka can enhance its agricultural sustainability, protect the environment, and produce healthier crops while ensuring long-term food security for its population
